Journal Club Meetings are held periodically and create an opportunity to discuss current topics in Breastfeeding Medicine.

  • Kat Schuknecht, Postpartum Doula gave a presentation on postpartum depression and the work she does with Postpartum Progress
  • Anne Eglash, MD presented Infant Sleep and Night Feeding Patterns During Later Infancy: Association with Breastfeeding Frequency, Daytime Complementary Food Intake, and Infant Weight

January 17, 2013: Journal Club Meeting

  • Presentation and Discussion for BCSCW members 7 – 8:30 PM 
  • Held at Alicia Ashman Branch of the Madison Public Library, 733 N. High Point Road, Madison. 
  • Ingrid Andersson, LM, CNM and Laurel Franczek hosted a panel and discussion on the topic of “Milk Between Moms” on milk banking and milk sharing in our community.


April 19, 2012: General meeting of members. 

  • Held at Happy Bambino. 22 people attended, plus 2 babies. 
  • Dr. Ildi Martonffy presented on breastfeeding advocacy, Best for Babes, new AAP policy statement, Healthy People 2010 goals not being met yet. 
  • Dr. Anne Eglash facilitated discussion on member interests.
